I have no idea who that woman is behind me but she wouldn’t move so her smiling face and cool attitude is included!
I love the theme Macy’s uses for their holiday things- Believe!
Because the holidays should always be a time for giving I recently accepted a mission from my friends at Savings.com to surprise a lucky Macy’s shopper by paying for their purchases.
Macy’s has INCREDIBLE sales this time of year. If you have read A Frugal Chick for any length of time you have seen many, many deals. Their coupon codes are always a great value and usually high value!
Basically they gave me a $100 gift card to stand behind someone in line and pay for their purchases. This sounds simple, right? Turns out it feels kind of creepy stalking people in Macy’s trying to see what they are going to buy. Especially when you want to do video.
So what we ended up doing was finding a lady who was doing some shopping who really seemed to be searching for deals and asked her permission to pay for her order and also to film her (because people find people with cameras really creepy). She 100% did not believe me. She didn’t believe me when I told her what I was doing, she didn’t believe me when I was standing behind her in line and she didn’t believe me when I handed over the gift card.
What do you don’t see is that after the camera was shut off and the gift card had cleared she fell all over herself thanking me! She was so appreciative- they looked like new work clothes for maybe an older son or husband and she had picked some really nice, quality items. She was very sweet. I was very glad I could help her and her family!
And while it’s not likely you will find someone in line behind you at Macy’s to pay for your purchases you can use some of their coupon codes to save big money. Because Macy’s has all the perfect gifts for everyone on your list!
