Basically one day after I got engaged I started thinking about Money Saving Wedding Ideas. A quick search on google revealed the average American wedding costs about $35,000.
I thought “how pretentious are people that they have such fancy weddings?” After the first look at venues, dresses, catering and alcohol it was very easy to see how you could spend $35,000. And remember that is just an AVERAGE wedding. No belly dancers. No ice sculptures. No Grammy winning recording artist playing at your reception. Just 100 of your closest family and friends eating chicken and dancing to the Cupid Shuffle.
Over the next few months I will be writing about my wedding planning journey. Then after I will add more pictures and talk about what worked and what didn’t. I will try to be honest about what things cost in as much as I don’t reveal any vendor information they wouldn’t want out available to the public.
Just a note: I have NO relationships in kind with any vendors I list. I didn’t ask anyone for a special deal in exchange for a mention on the website. If I mention someone it’s because they did an excellent job providing service and I feel comfortable telling people about it.
