One of the perks of a Virginia Zoo membership is their membership swaps. They have some membership swaps scheduled for 2021 and hopefully we will see more. This is a chance to really check out some other museums in the area.
The Zoo has several types of memberships so whichever one you get SHOULD mirrored at the other location. If your membership gets two people into the zoo it SHOULD get two people into the other location. But I have received a few messages that you might want to call ahead and check.

The Virginia Zoo Membership Swaps Scheduled for 2022
For May 2022, The Children’s Museum of Virginia and the Virginia Zoo are swapping members.
For June 202, Virginia Zoo members will enjoy free admission to the Richmond Museum of Science and Richmond Museum of Science members will enjoy free admission to the Virginia Zoo!
For July 2022, Virginia Zoo members will enjoy free admission to MOCA, and MOCA members will enjoy free admission to the Virginia Zoo!
For August 2022, Virginia Zoo members will enjoy free admission to the Hermitage Museum and Gardens and Hermitage Museum members enjoy free admission to the Zoo!
And the rumor is a swap with the YMCA in August!
You would have to check with the Y. Last year they had a form that they filled out for the zoo to let them know how many people were on your membership. If you had a family membership with three kids they indicated that for you on the form.
So, for the Zoo, if you have a Y membership, can you take a guest to the zoo or is it only for the Y membership holder?
We’re still working out all of the details! It’s looking like the number of admissions will vary according to each individual organization. Thanks for writing an awesome blog! Don’t mind if we share it! 😉
Not necessarily correct. Last time with the Aquarium swap, it was a maximum of 4 admissions per day, even if your zoo membership covered more than 4. Just FYI.
