I rarely post Amazon Add-On Items because having to find another $25 worth of items to get them shipped is not incredibly frugal.
I just learned there is a way to get around it.
Add-on Items are products that the company deems “cost-prohibitive to ship on their own.” Many of them are everyday household items — like toothpaste or pens — that could save you a trip to your local convenience store. But there’s a catch: Amazon has a $25 minimum-order requirement.
Fortunately there is a loophole- just pre-order something else that puts you over the $25.
If you want to see an example of an add-on item check out this 3M Double Draft Door Seal. Choose your add-on item and add it to your cart. This made my total $5. So I just need to pre-order something for $20.
For my pre-ordering needs I have selected Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: The Illustrated Edition because if for some reason I forget to cancel it I will still be happy when it arrives. Plus remember anything you pre-order on Amazon gives you the low price guarantee- if the price drops any time after you order it you pay the lowest price.
Once your item arrives just go in and cancel your pre-order! Amazon will eventually figure out this loop hole and shut it down but for right now feel free to take advantage!
