Welcome to Week 2 of the “Destress Yourself” series. Check out all the previous posts in the “Destress Yourself” series if you missed any!
When it comes to cleaning out closets, drawers, attics and garages we tend to look at these things as huge projects. But many organizers will tell you that small steps can be just as effective.
So my challenge for myself and you this week is to get one bag of things together to either throw away or donate for each person in your house. 5 people = 5 bags. This doesn’t mean clean out your entire attic. Maybe this is just taking a black trash bag, going to your closet and pulling 10 things off of hangars you haven’t worn in a year. Or donating DVDs you haven’t watched in years. Perhaps you have old newspapers, magazines or documents you need to recycle or destroy.
Whatever it is there is a good chance the extra clutter in your house is not exactly making you feel relaxed. So take the extra 10 minutes to find these few bags of things to donate or throw away. Clear out your space so you can focus on positive things!
I have been working on this as well. Another good idea is to use freecycle. You can pass on items to others in your area who may be able to use them. Thanks for the great ideas!
I cleaned out a bag and a box, I’ve been doing a little at a time. I put them in my truck so it can be dropped off at GOODWILL in the morning. More to be donated!
I cleaned out bag full of kids clothes and cleaned out other areas today… before reading this step 2 … same with step 1… These are really great tips and ideas…please keep them coming..
I love this idea! I mean we all have at least one grocery bag of stuff that someone else could use!
Great ideas, baby steps. I did throw out a ton of magazines last week, and cleaned out the dreaded bathroom cabinets. Now to keep on moving on!
Where can i find week one
