Last night I had the opportunity to head to Busch Gardens Christmas Town 2015 at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It was opening night and in spite of the 70 degree temperatures it felt like Christmas!
The park was COMPLETELY PACKED- as I knew it would be with a grand opening on the weekend of Thanksgiving. I also have to be honest, I wasn’t thrilled that they chose to open on Black Friday night so I was a little tired when I got there. The lines at the kiosks to buy tickets were crazy full- always be sure to buy your tickets online BEFORE you get to the park. You can print them off at home and head straight in the doors. We were glad to skip one set of lines.

Once I walked into the park I could feel myself relax. The park has eight million light bulbs, beautiful music, incredible food and an amazing atmosphere. It makes me happy every time I enter and I’m always thankful I live near such an amazing place!
We took the time to make a video so you can see everything I want you to see!
Most of what I wanted to cover was in the video but I wanted to talk specifically about the new show “Twas The Night.” We finished up dinner around 6:00 and there was a show at 6:30 so we figured we would wander over to the Royal Palace Theatre and catch the show with time to spare. We were surprised to see a line that wound all the way around the theatre, down the walk, through the cabana area and almost to Ireland. It must have been several hundred people.
So we pulled out our phones and booked reserved seats for the 9:30 show. We ended up paying $9.99 which got us the seats and the two extra Souvenir Hot Beverage Mugs that I am giving away at the bottom of this post (we had already gotten ours earlier that night). That way we were able to show up at 9:15 and grab seats on the third row.
If you are going to be at the park on a normal night I would think this is an option you may not need. But if you are expecting the park to be packed you might consider buying reserved seating ahead of time. If you buy it at home before you get to the park you can be sure you don’t have to wait in line!
And the show is totally worth it!

‘Twas That Night, an all-new ice show, reimagines the magic of Christmas Eve and the classic poem A Visit From St. Nicholas. World-champion figure skater Elvis Stojko brings this beloved Christmas story to life, on ice. Combining the grace of professional figure skating with cherished Christmas music, original holiday songs and magnificent visuals.

So because of that I ended up with two extra Souvenir Hot Beverage Mugs. I want to give them to one of my readers who is planning on visiting the park this year. When you buy these cups at the park for $5.99 you can refill on hot chocolate (and a few other drinks) for only $1.29 each time (season pass members get 10% off). This should save you some money!

#1 I can’t wait to see the new ice show!
#2 I already subscribe and read the newsletter daily to see what deals are out there.
I’m most excited about the brand-new ice show and the hot chocolate! I really appreciate the tips on getting the reserved tickets on those really busy days, in case we might need them! I take my mommy and 2 brothers every year since they don’t get to go out much, and usually my mommy only lets us buy the hot chocolate mug if it’s extremely cold since we’re poor, and she’ll only let me buy one and we’ll just keep getting refills, haha. It’s great though since my brothers and I don’t normally get to drink hot chocolate, so sometimes I wish that it gets really cold, but at the same time I don’t want my family to be uncomfortable because of the weather.
I’ve been a subscribed member from before you aired on TV (and obviously proud of it)! 😀
Love taking my grandchildren here, so much fun.
I am a subscriber 🙂
I can’t wait to see all the lights – especially the Pompeii display!
Annual family tradition. The “Let There Be Peace on Earth” bridge is my favorite. Such a beautiful place with thousands of gold and white lights. Touches my heart every time I go!
I cant wait to see my daughters eyes light up when she sees the christmas lights and Santa! Toddlers are the most fun!
I tried to get the special discount tickets. My daughter is coming for Christmas from El Paso (only seen her twice in three years and they will leave 1/10th for Germany for 3 years). Wanted to go with my 2 daughters and daughter-in-law for a special evening and memories so a “mug” would be nice to give to her. P.S. When I am grocery shopping and I see anyone with their “coupon binder”, I start up a conversation and ask them if they know about you – A Frugal Chick and pass on how to find you. Thanks for all of your hard work finding all of us BARGAINS!!!
We love Christmas Town and we get to introduce our new daughter-in-law from the West Coast to our family tradition! I receive your newsletter and have gotten great deals from you! Thanks so much

My husband’s favorite time of the year is Christmas time. He’s been looking forward to taking our 21 month old back to see all the lights since we left Christmas Town last year. My favorite part of Christmas Town is watching my husband’s face light up as he shows our son the beautiful lights around the park and watching my son smile as he takes in all the excitement.
I can’t wait to see my granddaughter Harper’s beautiful eyes as she takes in her 1’st Christmas and all of the beautiful splendor of Christmas Town at Busch Gardens.
I am excited to take my two children for the first time.
We say we are going to go every year but can never find the extra money. This year we snagged the $14 twinkle tickets.
Yes ma’am. It’s just I think about $.20 more to refill.
I can’t to see my 6 year old daughter reaction to all the decorations and lights. It will be her first visit to the park where her daddy and I fell in love 20 years ago.

Lights! Lights! Lights!
My favorite thing is to walk around looking at the lights. It is magical!
We went last year thanks to a deal on A Frugal Chick, and we can’t wait to go again this year. The lights and music are amazing and I’m excited to see the new ice show. But, what we really can’t wait to see is the look of wonder and awe on our grandkids faces!
We have never been to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens, even though we have talked about it for the past couple of years. This year I am going to make it happen for sure! We are looking forward to the lights, the shows, the magical feeling you get as you walk through something so incredibly beautiful, the excitement in my daughters eyes, and the memories!
If I’m honest I can’t wait to see everything! The minute I get through the gates I feel like I am at the North Pole. Thanks to you for posting about the discounts we are able to go because otherwise we wouldn’t be able to afford the tickets for my family of 4.
I think I’ve subscribed. When I hit enter, the landing page said page not available. This happened twice– once in both links.

I’ve never been and this is the first year we are going. I can’t wait to see all the lights. I also wanted to mention to the other posters that Laura did a home party where she came and talked to myself and several friends and we have been saving tons since. I’m not sure she still does this, because it was a few years ago. If she does, I highly suggest it, plus it was a blast.
After watching your video I can’t wait to see Christmas Town for myself!
I already subscribe to your newsletter. Thanks for all you do!
I’ve only been once, and I can’t wait to go again. I love all the lights. When standing on the bridge looking at the lights of “Peace on Earth” on the tressle with the song playing, I just get teary-eyed. And the tiny “snow” bubbles from the tower near Santa make me feel like a little kid agsin.
Twas the Night with both my kids once one gets home from college in GA.
