A few of you guys have emailed me asking about the Applebee’s coupon that was sent out in yesterday’s round-up. Apparently someone that says they are from their PR firm is emailing bloggers who posted the coupon and telling them that it is fraudulent.

I called our local Applebee’s here in Texas and the manager had actually just received an email about the coupon from corporate. It is NOT fraudulent, it was just a coupon that was intended for the Atlanta, GA market only (they just forgot to indicate that on the coupon other than an address in Atlanta at the bottom which a lot of the emails from companies have).

So basically each store can choose whether to honor the coupons or not, and since they have pretty slow traffic during those times the manager at my Applebee’s said that our local Applebee’s would be glad to accept the $5/$25 one. But, at least at the Texas locations, they don’t have a way to input the 2 lunches for $10 into their computer so they cannot honor that coupon.

It will be up to each manager what they do, but I’m assuming many will accept at least the $5/$25 coupon since they would likely love more customers during those off-peak hours.

I went to Applebee’s today to use the save $5 from $25 coupon and was told the coupon is fraudulent. They showed me the information they sent from corporate and were told not to accept the coupons. This was at the Applebee’s on Richmond Rd in Williamsburg.
