I am not a coffee drinker. However I have a love of hot chocolate and certain teas. And I respect how seriously people take their coffee!
So I was thrilled when Tassimo contacted me about reviewing a Tassimo T20 Brewpot. One because I knew my hot chocolate would taste much better (microwave hot chocolate just doesn’t have much of a kick). And two because it’s a really nice looking machine and it adds a little bit of class to the outdated appliances in my kitchen.
When it arrived I was not disappointed with the great appearance and small size. It fit nicely in a corner of my small kitchen. Cleaning it was very easy- the directions are simple and you just have to run a few cups of water through the system to make sure everything is clean. I am LOVING how easy it is to get a quick cup of hot water- I have some tea bags in my house and it only takes a few seconds to get a nice cup of hot water.
To brew a cup, you just remove & fill the reservoir- it holds 50 oz of water so you should be able to get 4- 11 oz cups before needing to refill. Then you pick your beverage- coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate, or tea. (Hey Tassimo people- how about some apple cider!?). The machine uses T-discs that store all of the needed ingredients for these drinks- there is no steaming your own milk resulting in cleaning extra parts. Each of these discs can be used 5 times and has it’s own unique bar code which the machine reads to know what it is brewing and how to adjust the temperature, amount of water and brew time. There are multiple companies that make discs for this product so you can shop around for the best deals both online and in stores.
You can also adjust the temperature, amount of water and brew time for each beverage depending on what the drinker wants. There is also a manual setting that allows you to decrease the strength of the beverage.
So is the Tassimo Brewpot worth the price tag? If you have been brewing a full pot of coffee in your house each morning and dumping most of it down the drain- yes. If you spend more than $10 a week at Starbucks on expresso or latte- yes. If you have been considering buying a more expensive version of this machine- yes.
So want to try one yourself? The nice people at Tassimo gave me one to give to a lucky reader! And entering is very easy!

Because this is a big prize (valued at $129) this contest is going to run until June 5th. On June 5th I will e-mail the winner. They will have 24 hours to respond and if I do not hear back I will select another winner.
- In the spirit of full disclosure the Tassimo people did give me a free product to review but the opinions are mine.
