Nationwide Give Away & Review: Nintendo Wii Game

As budgets continue to get tighter families are finding new ways to enjoy themselves at home instead of going out.  And one of the ways to keep your family entertained at home is to play games together.

Now there is nothing wrong with a good old fashioned game of spoons but sometimes you want to involve a little bit more technology.  And you don’t have to go broke to find fun games the whole family (at their various skill levels) can enjoy.

Nintendo (who is near and dear to my heart- my stomach still ties up in knots when I hear the words “I’m Sorry But Your Princess Is In Another Castle”) has decided to step up to the plate and help out by releasing their Nintendo Selects bundle of four classic games:

Wii Sports

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Mario Super Sluggers

Animal Crossing: City Folk

Each of them is $19.99- VERY affordable considering what I thought the games would cost.  Nintendo has their Wii Console Bundle for $149.99 and it comes with Mario Kart (oh my gosh so much fun!) and the matching Wii Wheel Accessory.   So for the cost of two family trips to the movies you can have your own games to play at home- and everyone has the best seat in the house.

I could not believe how easy it was to set up the Wii- I had visions of spending time pouring over books trying to figure everything out.  But it was very self explanatory and before long I was playing tennis against some little figures who beat me horribly in the first game (I promptly reset and smoked them in the next game).

There is another huge advantage to having the Wii- I have been trying to decide if I want to get rid of my cable television.  Did you know you can stream Netflix through the Wii (there are some additional charges)?  So the Wii may also be able to help me cut my monthly bills in addition to providing me with hours of entertainment.

Overall I give the Wii and The Nintendo Select Games two thumbs up!  So now it’s your turn: wanna try a game?
