They have not released which stores in these areas will participate!  If you live in one of these areas keep your eyes and ears open!

Some Walmarts Are Doubling Coupons (Lucky)

I can’t believe I even just typed in that title for this post.  But it’s true… some Walmarts are doubling coupons.

Here is the list currently: Madison, Ohio; Charleston, West Virginia; Utah County, Utah ( 7 Walmarts are doubling); Huntington, West Virginia; Wayne, West Virginia and Findlay, Ohio.

The rules seem to be pretty common coupon doubling rules (these are all verbal rules given to a blogger so we can’t hold your store to any of them):

– Any coupon up to $.99 is doubled.  So a $.75 off coupon is worth $1.50 off.

– They will continue to price match and allow you to use a coupon

– You must only use coupons for items you buy

– If the coupon says “Do Not Double” it won’t double

As always be sure to call your location ahead of time and make sure they are participating.  (I hope one day they do this in my town!)

Thanks I Heart The Mart!

7 NYC Make Up Items Around $1 at Walmart (Combined)

This is such a good deal- I hope I can explain it properly!

Right now on coupons.com there are three NYC make up coupons.  Use Zip Code 11223.  You should be able to print them twice (just hit the back button after you print them the first time.  They should show back up but they might move to the last page).

Just make sure you have six coupons!

Then you need the June All You Magazine- there is a coupon for $5 off when you buy $10 worth of NYC cosmetics.

Then when you go to Walmart grab 7 of their items (just be sure they cost more than $1.72 each because that is what the coupon says).

Use all 7 coupons when you check out and it should be around $1 for ALL 7 items!

Thanks My Litter!

Reach Floss Moneymaker at Walmart

Did you know that if you buy an item at Walmart cheaper than the value of the coupon they will give you the overage?  Reader Annie sent me a great deal scenario where you can make a few cents off another item!

Reach Dental Floss is on sale for $.88
– $2.50/2 Listerine Products (it includes the floss) 4/17/2011 SS Insert (exp 12/31/2011)
Final Cost: FREE plus $.74 off of something else

The coupon in my Smart Source has the wording a little bit different so it won’t work for the sale- hopefully yours will!

Thanks Annie!

Walmart Air Wick Warmer- Overage!

Remember the new coupon policy at Walmart says that if you have an overage with your coupon you will get that money off of another item!  So even if you weren’t planning on picking this item up, it should give you a few cents off something else!

Air Wick Warmer Unit $.97
Use $1/1 printable
Total: FREE + overage

Walmart v. Sams: Where Is The Best Deal?

Just about every class I teach someone asks about Sam’s Club.  I usually recommend that people go with BJs since they take manufacturer’s coupons.  But in a side by side comparison I wondered- is Sams REALLY that much cheaper than Walmart?

So I took a stroll in both stores and randomly selected items to compare prices.  These prices are for Chesapeake, VA and may vary a bit by area.

Here is what I found:

                                              Sam’s Club Walmart
Bones
Season 1 & 2 DVD
 $ 34.88  $  29.96
Criminal Minds
Season 1
 $  26.88  $    29.96
Tron DVD  $  17.98  $   19.96
Tangled Blu-Ray/DVD  $  24.88  $    24.96
Mary Higgins Clark
I’ll Walk Alone
 $   15.94  $    18.19
Tina Fey
Bossypants
 $ 14.94  $   18.89
Boneless Skinless
Chicken Breasts
(Cheapest Ones)
$1.97 lb $1.88 lb
Cantaloupe $1.98 each $1.50 each
Bananas $.48 lb $.52 lb
Red Potatoes $.60 lb $.98 lb
One Gallon 1% Milk $3.02 $3.02
Horizon Organic Milk
Half Gallon
$3.19 $3.50
Strawberry Pop Tarts $.20 per tart $.22 per tart
Corona Bottles $.96 per bottle $1.00 per bottle
Cinnamon Toast Crunch $.136 per oz $.152 per oz
Finish Powerball Tabs $.14 per tab $.24 per tab
Diet Coke 2L $1.25 each $1.25 each
Eggland’s Best $2.16 per dozen $2.48 per dozen
Dove Bar Soap $.927 per bar $1.10 per bar
Tampax Pearl $.13 each $.19 each
Pantene Nature Fusion
Shampoo
$.197 per oz $.23 per oz
DiGiorno Frozen Pizza $4.33 each $5.75 each

So from looking at these numbers Sam’s Club is cheaper on most items (although the quantities are VERY different).  However all of these numbers leave out one very important part in the equation- COUPONS!

Many of the items above regularly have coupons and they can not be used at Sam’s Club.  So before you considering getting or renewing a membership check it all out!
