Mona Lisa Eyes (Danny Logan Mystery #4)

A modern version of a classic whodunit: Seattle PI Danny Logan investigates the murder of a beautiful heiress.

Danny Logan has known for a while that his partner, Antoinette “Toni” Blair is an extraordinarily gifted woman. But when she tells him one morning that Sophie Thoms is looking right at her with her “Mona Lisa Eyes”, speaking to her with her gaze alone, Logan starts to worry. And for good reason: Sophie Thoms was murdered three months ago.

The police are baffled by the case and they offer no objections when Sophie’s father, billionaire industrialist Sir Jacob Thoms, hires Logan PI to represent the family. Danny, Toni, and the rest of the crew dive headlong into a foreign world – a world of wealth and privilege, a world of beautiful women and their superstar boyfriends, a world where normal boundaries and limits no longer seem to apply.

They soon learn that this is not your normal PI case. Then again, nobody ever accused Danny Logan and Toni Blair of being your normal detectives.

Five Days in May

In Jonas Cunningham’s mind, what he’s planning isn’t murder. The handful of little white pills that will free his precious Maggie from the fog of Alzheimer’s is a gift, a final act of unconditional love.

Jonas’s 16-year-old granddaughter, Joy, isn’t planning “murder” either. She’s pregnant and sees only one way to keep from shaming her family. Secrets like that are hard to keep though, in a small town.

Joy’s father, Rev. Mac MacIntosh has lost his wife and his faith and on Friday, he plans to commit professional suicide—not just leave his church, but abandon his call to ministry.

Princess has an appointment with the Reaper on Friday, too, one she’s been staring down for 14 years. At 5 o’clock, the state of Oklahoma will strap her into an electric chair called Sizzlin’ Suzie and turn on the juice.

But as the strange, psychic death row inmate meets daily with the minister during the final 5 days of her life, everything in both their lives begins to change. Princess knows—about Mac’s life and family. And sees—the Big Ugly coming to eat up the world. She sees other terrible things, too, and is determined to carry to her grave an incredible secret about the little sister she confessed to beheading a decade ago.

When the savage tornado roars with a sound like gravel in a blender into their small prairie town on that May Friday, all 4 of the people who’d penciled in “death” on their calendars actually do confront eternity.

But none of them comes to the crossroads of life and death by the path they’d planned or leaves with the result they expected.

The only way to fix it would be to have an e-mail sent every time I do a post and THAT would be really annoying. They go out around noon every day because I found that was the time where the most people opened them. Probably the best way to keep up to the minute on prices is to either follow on Facebook or twitter- they get updated much more frequently!

I truly love your information ~ we even dvr Ch 13′s morning news weekends just to see you, Julie Wilcox, and the animal shelter segments. My major complaint is that your “daily emails” are consistently past expiration (Amazon). They are no longer valid and of no use. Can this be fixed?

none of these were free. I run into that a lot. I am broke and really would probably not have good control if I ever put a card in to buy a book-even for a dollar!! I am a book junkie. pixle of ink does offer 4 free books every day and bookbub has many though a lot of those that are free are the paranormal and vampire kind. well I still have my library. I just wish sites wouldn’t say things are free if they aren’t. and I do appreciate the freebies I do get :)
