I will never forget smelling fried chicken in a movie theater. It wasn’t one of those places that they serve dinner while you eat. Nope, as soon as the previews were over and the usher made his first pass of the movie a lady a few rows up pulled out a CARTON of fried chicken from her bag. I tried to see if she had grabbed sides as well but it was too dark- I could have gone for a biscuit.
Everybody does it. I can’t tell you how many times we stopped by 7-11 or a Dollar Tree on our way to the movies when I was a kid to grab a treat. With a drink being $4 who doesn’t?
Well Cinemark is laying down the law.
On their website, the movie theater company said they are banning packages or bags that measure larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ — seemingly equal to a large tote bag.
The exception: medical equipment bags and diaper bags will still be allowed.
Cinemark said they made the new rules to help keep movie-goers and employees safe. The company added that they won’t have a designated area for people to check bags, and they reserve the right to inspect bags and packages that enter their theaters.
I don’t live in an area with a ton of Cinemark Theaters. And I can still fit plenty in a bag smaller than that size. But in case you were planning on sneaking in a pizza- that’s gonna be a hard no.
Dell smoot says
If they would lower their prices people wouldn’t have to sneak extra snacks into the movie. A dollar box of candy cost triple the price?? This is ridiculous
