This is one of a series of posts on the amazing town of Williamsburg, VA [1]. If you are looking for a vacation or a good staycation it has many hidden gems and awesome high profile places to shop, eat and experience! I have also started a Pinterest Board [2] with great things to do around Williamsburg!
Right across the street from Sno To Go [4](which I consider a Williamsburg landmark) is the VERY cool Yankee Candle Flagship Store.
Inside the store is divided into about a dozen sections- each with it’s own decor and items.
My absolute favorite is the Christmas section- IT SNOWS INSIDE! Each year I would go up the store and grab gifts for my voice and piano students- they have a huge selection of specialized tree ornaments, candles, nutcrackers and houses.
Yes I went in May and Santa was there working.
The best place to find deals inside the store is this GIANT closet full of marked down candles and holiday items. While there are tons of great smelling candles (especially leftover holiday ones) some of the WORST candles I have ever smelled are also there (schnitzel with noodles anyone?). You can see in the picture above the mix of Easter, Halloween and Christmas items.
Inside there is a great clock that counts down the days until December 25th. Every 15 minutes or so these great characters come out and sing a song. It’s great for the kids to watch while you sit by the beautiful fountain in the center.
I love the store inside where things are decorated like candy! Of course they change these rooms every six months (ish) so you never know what cool stuff you could see next time!
Also you can check out their special calendar of events [14] for times!
