Some Useful Apps For Saving Money

Many of my readers have SmartPhones and ask me constantly what apps they can use to help with their couponing needs.

Fortunately a blogging buddy of mine has an Iphone and was filling to share some of her favorite apps!

Both Groupon [1] and Living Social [2],  (two deal sites I mention often) have smart phone apps. It transfers all your account info to your phone.  So, if you buy a deal you can just take your phone to the store and show it to the merchant!  That way you never have to worry about leaving your certificate at home!  Both of these apps are free.

You can also save Swagbucks [3] on your screen so you can do searching via them on your phone to earn more points!

If you use Cellfire [4] (to download coupons on your store cards) they also have a free app.

Key Ring [5] is an app I have mentioned before. Once you install it, you use your phone’s camera to scan the barcodes of all your store loyalty cards, naming them as you go. Then take your phone to the store and they scan your phone instead of your card.  Once you have confirmed your store can use your phone, you can take the cards off your keyring and store them somewhere at home!

One very useful all is called Grocery iQ. If you’re a list-maker, this app is for you! The iPhoneAppBlog (in March 2010) named it “Best in Class” and “One of the 5 Hottest Apps”. You can scan the barcodes of products you use regularly using the camera. You can create lists for multiple stores and the lists can get lengthy!
