Welcome to my new 2012 Series “Overheard in a Coupon Class“. Each week post about a commonly asked question, joke or funny story from my coupon classes. And I have TONS of material!
What about big box stores?
People ask me all the time what I think about Sam’s Club, Costco and BJs. I think if you have a large family they are a great asset. But they aren’t necessary and they don’t always give you the best deals.
One of my best blogging buddies has 7 kids and they do not use big box stores. They have learned to shop the drug stores and grocery stores and stock up.
Between Zaycon Foods, shopping properly and meal planning I don’t think that the big stores are that useful. I am not going to say they are never good for anyone but for the vast majority of people probably don’t need to pay an extra fee every year just to shop.
However if you still decide to shop, did you know that BJ’s accepts manufacturer’s coupons? And they will allow you to coupon stack with their store coupons as well. This can lead to some big savings.
So if you want a big box store, I recommend BJ’s.
So what do you think? Do the big box stores save you money?
