The J.M. Smucker Co. is recalling select JIF products in the United States due to potential Salmonella contamination.
This issue was discovered after a multistate salmonella outbreak . Illnesses were reported in Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. The investigation concluded that the outbreak was linked to Jif brand peanut butter produced in the J.M. Smucker Company facility located in Lexington, Kentucky.
Recalled products include those with lot codes 1274425 – 2140425. You should be able to find the info on your container.
