I love my fitbit more than any normal person. Ask any close friend and they probably have a story of me in their living room marching in place trying to get my steps in for the day.

I got my first fitbit free from my insurance company. They had a program where I could get the Fitbit Flex FREE and if I wore it and let them have access to my steps I would get a $75 VISA gift card after six months. Um sign me up.
I was hooked. I began competing with my friends and family on a weekly and daily basis. I carried everything in my right hand so my left arm could swing freely.
But I didn’t like that in order to know how many steps I had done I had to be by my phone. The Fitbit Flex is great but has no information on the display.
So when I got my $75 VISA gift card I went on the hunt for a new Fitbit. Mine was still working fine and I wasn’t going to spend a bunch of money on it so I needed to find a really good deal. In August I got home at 2 a.m. one morning and jumped on Amazon to check prices and a blue Fitbit Charge was on sale for $76. That was the cheapest I had seen it by about $15. I grabbed one using the VISA gift card and posted the deal in A Frugal Chick’s Shopping Room on Facebook (cause I figured it would change too fast for a post).
I have worn that Fitbit every day since August 2016. I have slept in it most nights. I wear it every Sunday morning on television. I have even showered with it twice on accident. So I was devastated last week when it started peeling and the back cracked. After some googling I discovered that they have a one year warranty but I had never sent it any paperwork or anything. I figured it was worth a shot to ask.
So I got on the fitbit website and jumped in a chat box. After giving the guy my order information (thank you Amazon for still having the order number and everything else) he shot me an e-mail with my two options- I could replace the current fitbit for FREE or get 50% off any on their website!
It took five minutes. And, are you ready for this, I bought a NEW Fitbit. I FINALLY own something that is the latest version because I could get it 50% off. Hopefully my new Fitbit Alta HR will hang on for a while- cause I love my trackers!
I told this story to several friends and several were sad they had missed their windows to get their broken bands fixed or replaced. So if you bought your fitbit in the last year and it needs some love give Fitbit a chat- they may prove to be more helpful than you know!

Love my Alta! I had the same cracking problem with my charge, they replaced it once for free, but it happened again. I’d bought it at Costco originally (and it’s not considered a restricted return electronic ) so I just took it back and got the Alta (again from Costco!) That band issue is why I’ll not get another fit bit that doesn’t have replaceable bands! The Alta has been great, I get cheap, cute 3rd party bands on Amazon, always use a silicone band to keep it secure (probably not needed on original bands, but definitely needed for third party!!), and love that it’s now cute!!
