Cooking for One: Grandma's Cucumber and Onion Salad

- 1 cucumber sliced
- ¼ onion sliced
- ¼ cup sugar
- dash of celery seed
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup water
- In a sauce pan bring sugar and vinegar to a boil. Stir while boiling until all sugar is dissolved. Let cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, add cucumbers, onions, water, celery seed and vinegar mixture. Stir and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
- The longer it sits the better so I try to make it the day before I want to serve it.
