Cooking for One: Grandma's Cucumber and Onion Salad

Ingredients
  • 1 cucumber sliced
  • ¼ onion sliced
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • dash of celery seed
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
Instructions
  1. In a sauce pan bring sugar and vinegar to a boil. Stir while boiling until all sugar is dissolved. Let cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add cucumbers, onions, water, celery seed and vinegar mixture. Stir and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
  3. The longer it sits the better so I try to make it the day before I want to serve it.
