Destress Yourself Week #3: Use Your Slow Cooker

In 2012 A Frugal Chick is writing the series “Destress Yourself [1].”  Missed past posts?  Click here [1]to catch up!

In my humble opinion the slow cooker is one of the most under-used appliances in households.  People don’t feel like cooking after they get home from work but they don’t utilize the thing in their house that could have dinner ready to go!

Slow cooker recipes don’t have to be complicated and many items you can easily get with coupons (marinades, frozen vegetables etc) are very commonly used.  Meals can be as simple as throwing in boneless skinless chicken breasts and bbq sauce.  You may even have all the ingredients in your house now!

Plus crock pot meals are often large so they will provide you with leftovers for lunch the next day!

So your assignment this week (should you choose to accept it) is to schedule atleast one meal using your crock pot.  Just imagine a world where you come home and dinner is practically on the table!

If you don’t have a recipe may I suggest my favorite Chicken Chili [2]?
