I know that many of my readers have passes to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, as do I. They haven’t been incredibly clear or consistent about what they were planning on doing for their membership/fun pass/preschool passes. People who have called on the phone have had wait times of hours or promises of call backs that have never come.
I have been watching their social media pretty closely and finally after yesterday I feel like they have got their stuff together and unified. So here is what we know for sure:
Busch Gardens Williamsburg Single Day Tickets: Single day tickets that would have expired in 2020 will automatically be extended through December 31, 2021. Internationally purchased tickets will be extended through the first week of 2022. Previously they had said there would be some blackout dates for these. I am not seeing that now but it may pop back up again.
FREE Preschool Passes: Originally you had to register the preschool pass at the park by May 31 but they have stated several times on social media they will extend that as well. This information has not been updated on their website but as they have furloughed pretty much all the marketing staff in Williamsburg this isn’t too surprising. For those of you who didn’t see the change this year you will no longer have to bring a birth certificate and go to customer service to wait in line to activate the pass. Currently on the website it says the passes are good through November 1, 2020. As it’s a free pass I don’t see any reason for them to extend that due to closure.
In Park Experiences: Guests who have in-park experiences that are date specific and will not be able to be used during the time that the park is temporarily closed, will be able to reschedule through 2021.
All Season Meal Plan: If you bought the meal plan last winter for this year it will be extended by a period atleast as long as the temporary closure!
Busch Gardens Fun Passes: Per social media Busch Gardens Fun Cards will be automatically extended by a period at least as long as the temporary closure, blockout dates may apply. No action is required on your part- this will be done automatically.

Season passes are people who have had their passes for years and have not changed over to the new passes. These passes are no longer available for purchase. Your membership will be extended by the period as long as the park is closed. For example if you pay for you pay for April-June and the park opens in July, you won’t be charged July through September. I THINK I saw somewhere online that you might receive some guest tickets but I cannot find again where I saw that. So fingers crossed that happens but no guarantee.
