Somewhere in your house there is a gift card you don’t want.
Maybe your Great Aunt sent you a Motherhood Maternity card and you aren’t pregnant. Perhaps your boss gave you an American Girl gift card and your son can’t seem to find anything he likes. Or even better a co-worker gave you a gift card to Omaha Steaks and as a vegetarian you are having a difficult time deciding what to order.
The gift cards aren’t doing you any good- so turn them into money!
I first heard about websites where you could sell and buy gift cards while I was hanging out with some bloggers in Chicago.
One of the names that came up was Cardpool.com . Besides hearing from other bloggers they are reputable they have been featured on CNN, The New York Times, Fox News and most other major networks.
Cardpool’s website is one of the easiest I have ever tried to navigate. Just select Buy Gift Cards or Sell Gift Cards and take a look around!
I went in to shop and pulled up Itunes (because I can’t work out without new music every few weeks). You can snag a $50 Itunes gift card for $45 with no shipping fees! Some of them are even electronic gift cards so you can have them right away! They have a huge selection of other gift cards as well- there must be 700 different merchants listed including restaurants, office supplies, sporting goods, travel, movie theaters and more!
Those unwanted gift cards can now find new owners who will appreciate them and you can appreciate some extra cash (or they have a new feature where you can get Amazon.com credit). They specialize in Best Buy Gift Cards and you can usually get a very high value selling those!
Or you can create a Wish List- if someone has a birthday coming up create a wishlist and Cardpool will notify you when the card you would like is available.
So if you are looking to cash in some unused cards or buy some at a discount, Cardpool may be perfect for you!
