I didn’t see this coming but I am so glad it did.
Starting today and running through Nov. 11, veterans, active-duty troops and Guard and Reserve members can get a one-year Amazon Prime membership for $79 — that’s $40 off the regular price. And if you already have an account, you can renew your Amazon Prime at a discount.
This one is not available for dependents or veteran family members but most of the time a household shares a Prime account anyway.
To sign up for the discount, Amazon needs to verify your eligibility. Go here to sign-up for the discount.
You get three tries to push the sign-up through. After three, the system will kick it back as being used too many times. That means if you experience a bug while signing up, you might need to contact customer support.
