Valentine’s Day can be a tricky holiday, so finding Affordable Valentine’s Day Ideas is important. If this is a problem you have encountered, and you don’t want to face yet another movie night date, check out some of the ideas below for fresh inspiration!

10 Affordable Valentine’s Day Ideas

An Escape Room

These have been popular for years, and although they can get pricy, tickets are usually around $25 a person. Often, you can even find deals online, so check before you book your room. If you can afford the price of $50 or less, you and your sweetie can spend the evening with an exciting mystery to solve!

Dance Classes

Check out local dance studios for classes and Valentine’s Day deals. Often, local dance studios will host open classes where anyone can come and, for a small fee, can learn how to waltz or cha-cha to their heart’s content.

Food Sampling Tour

Do you have a favorite restaurant where the entrees are to die for, but the dessert is lacking? Go to a different place for each! Check out $5 appetizers at a local chair restaurant where you know you can get the best mozzarella sticks, then go to your favorite dinner joint to get a slice of pizza, burger, or something nice like a steak if you have the appetite (or the extra cash). Afterward, hit up an ice cream shop for a quick cone, followed up by a drink at the local pub! If this sounds fun but a bit more pricy than you are hoping for, plan it beforehand, check the restaurant websites for prices and deals, and stick to your plan!

Ghost Tours

Do you and your special someone enjoy something a little bit creepy? Check to see if there are any ghost tours near you. Tickets are usually pretty reasonable, and you can spend the evening being spooked by haunting stories. Can you think of a better way to get closer this Valentine’s Day than holding hands on a chilly walk while you listen to scary ghost stories?

Be a Tourist

Have you ever just taken the time to see all the sites in your town? If not, take the day and walk around the main street, see the historical area, visit any parks or beaches. Ask “the locals” for recommendations of fun, free things to do or what they think are “must-sees.” You might discover your new favorite haunt!  Check out my Frugal Travel Ideas if you need some inspiration!

Plan a Scavenger Hunt

Are you a pretty creative person? Does your love enjoy puzzles and solving mysteries? If so, send your Valentine on a scavenger hunt! It could be just at home, with sticky notes left around the house, or even clues scattered throughout the city! Go big or go home! It’s your choice!

Shopping Spree on a Budget

Do you and your significant other enjoy shopping but don’t want to risk spending too much money? Set a budget ahead of time, and give yourself a cash allowance. Then, hit up your favorite shops and shop until you drop (or until you hit your spending limit)! Get something for yourself or something you both would enjoy. It’s up to you!

Spend Some Time

Don’t have a Valentine but still want to spend quality time with a loved one? Visit an elderly relative or a friend who might also be a little lonely on V-day. It always helps to spread the love around!

Paint Night

Check locally to see if you have any paint studios hosting paint night events near you. You and your love can spend the evening painting a masterpiece and enjoying each other’s company. Sometimes, they even supply wine!

Go to a Brewery or Winery

If you have a brewery or winery near you that is open right now, see if you can go for a tasting. Nothing is more fun than sharing a few drinks with a loved one!

Share Your Favorite Place

Do you have a favorite spot in your city that you like to visit? If you haven’t shown your sweetheart this place, this is the perfect time to share it!
