Saved 99% At Rite Aid Today + Got $10 In Up Rewards

by Laura on October 3, 2011

I am so excited about the results from my trip to Rite Aid this morning!

Yesterday I grabbed three extra copies of the newspaper (love the dollar store) because I wanted to get a bunch of make up with that $8/2 Cover Girl coupon.

Here was what I purchased this morning:

3 Single Color Eye Shadows

2 Wetslicks Lip Gloss

2 Pencil Eye Liners

1 Exact Eyelights package (has four colors in it specifically designed for my eye color)

Total Cost before coupons and sales: $41.42

Total Cost after Rite Aid’s Buy One Get One Free Cover Girl Sale: $32.32

Total Cost after 4 $8/2 Cover Girl Product Coupons: $.32

But wait- there is more!

Rite Aid is running a sale right now that if you purchase $30 in Cover Girl products you get $10 in Up Rewards (store credit).  So since my total was $32.32 before coupons I also got $10 in store credit!

So final totals :$.32 (it was $1.94 out of pocket once they added sales tax) and $10 in store credit to use on my next visit

PLUS the $32.32 counts toward the Proctor and Gamble $10 rebate!  And now I will use the $10 in store credit to purchase additional P&G items to get the rebate!

It depends on how your cashier scans the items. I didn’t notice it until you just mentioned it but it was all kinds of different items on my receipt that rang up half price- not just the cheapest item. Also my original total was less than $32. I had to take something and put it back and grab something else. So I had a little bit of help from a subtotal on the cash register.

I bought 2 single pack eye enhancers, 1 blush, one line exact, 1 liquiline blast, 1 lash blast fusion and 2 wet sticks. My initial total came to $40 and some change. They took $11.40 for my wellness savings and I used 4-$8 cover girl coupons. My total was still $6.53 OOP with a $10 RR. I was shooting for the $.32. My original total was less that the original bloggers but I still paid more. Does anyone know why that would be? The original blogger must be in another state. I am interested in any ideas.

I used mine the same way today and had no problems! ALSO, check the covergirl codes that print out on the receipts! I entered mine at riteaid/covergirl.com and each product purchased was worth 10pts. (80pts total) I was able to redeem for 2 t-shirts a key chain and a bracelet (no s&h charges either!) SCORE!

No ma’am. And they will not reduce the amount of the coupon to the item either. So if you have the $8/2 coupon you MUST have over $8 in charges.

I checked the codes on the back of the coupon to see what matched and these were the items that matched. The cashier’s at my Rite Aid did not care- I did ask. However I can’t vouch for every store on this one. If she had told me it would not work I would have found something else. :)

The numbers on the back matched up so they didn’t say anything at mine. I asked the cashier and she said as long as it rang up they didn’t care.

My Rite-Aid would not let me use that coupon on eye and lip make-up :( Said the coupon required face make-up.

I was told by numerous bloggers that the lipstick and eyeshadow are not considered face make-up, and some places will not let you use this coupon for it. Do you think that I will be able to go to Rite Aid and use these coupons for the lipstick and eyeshadow?
