Nationwide Give Away: Java Delights UnCups for Keurig

When I go into homes with Keurig coffee makers I hear two things- how much people LOVE drinking the coffee and how much people HATE paying for the cups.  Occasionally someone will mention how concerned they are about the amount of garbage being generated.

While you always have the option to make your own k-cups for Keurig another choice is to use products that use less materials.  SUPERVALU (owners of Albertsons, Cub Foods, Jewel-Osco, Shop ‘n Save, Hornbacher’s, ACME, Shaw’s, SHOPPERS and Farm Fresh) has been working on new sustainable products and have created new private label Java Delight UnCups™.  UnCups are made with 30 percent less material by weight than leading national brand pods. Even the cardboard is 100% recyclable, and the inner packaging bag is made with corn resin.

They offer six varieties of our the new UnCup, including French Roast, Decaf French Roast, Breakfast Blend, Donut Shop, 100% Colombia Supremo, and Special Blend.

SUPERVALU offered to send me some UnCups to try out but since I don’t drink coffee I asked if I could get them to you.  So this Give Away is for two boxes of the UnCups!  This will be a great chance to try a new product and see if you can experience long term savings on your coffee!

There are two ways to enter this Give Away:

1.  Leave a comment and tell me which flavor of coffee you prefer.

2.  Sign up for my daily newsletter and leave a comment here letting me know.

I will pick a winner on 10/15.  Once a winner is selected I will drop them an e-mail and they have 24 hours to reply.  If not I will pick another winner.

Good luck!

PS–if for some reason I get picked from my earlier entry–I would love to also try the breakfast blend even though I have never had it.

  2. Leslie W says

French roast is a favorite around here & my biggest concern when I was graciously gifted with a Keurig was the garbage waste :/ yikes! I’m so glad that some companies are changing that!

For coffee, the darker the better around here. The kind that can put hair on your chest. LOL 100% Colombia Supremo would be our vote. :)

Of the flavors you posted, I think I would prefer the Donut Shop blend the best. I am so happy that someone has thought of trying to make better packaging for these! While I love being able to make just one cup of whatever flavor I choose, the cups always seem so wasteful . Hope I win!

  5. Lisa C says

Of the flavors you listed, I prefer Donut Shop. We like light or medium roast coffees. I also get the newsletter.

  13. Julie says

I love the Donut Shop. I work at a school and my PTA let me borrow the small Kreig that was in the teachers lounge since they got the BIG one for the staff. I like it but I am concerned about the cost of the cups. I am seeing more coupons for them so that helps with the bottom line.

  14. Sharon says

I have been checking your website daily for sometime, now i will be getting your emails. I love my Keurig! If I win breakfast blend, special blend or donut shop are the flavors I would prefer. Thanks for giving us the chance to try these.

  15. Cathryn says

I love my Keurig and this is the eco-friendly solution. 100%Columbian would be my choice

  16. Phil says

San Francisco Bay also makes a K-Cup compatible product which seems more environmentally friendly. I order them from Amazon for a reasonable price. If you choose me, I’d prefer Donut Shop!

  17. Amanda says

One of my co-workers brought her keurig to work for us to use. We all love having it at work throughout the day. I’d love to be able to share these with my co-workers. I think the office would enjoy breakfast blend or the special blend. Thank you!

  18. Pat says

I agree with Rozanne. The waste is what bothers me the most about the Kcups. (But they are so convenient!!) I try to use an eco reusable Kcup holder. It’s a little more work but I think it ;s worth it. I thought about recycling but can you do that with the coffee ground inside the Kcup or should you remove it first?
I really like the concept of the UnCups:-)
    Any flavor:-) Just love coffee…

  19. Rozanne Whitworth says

I have always hated the waste and wondered if I could put them in the recycle bin. We drink all flavored coffee and are not picky! If chosen any flavor would be most appreciated!

  20. Cassidy says

What a great idea! The K-Cups are large for the amount of coffee that is actually inside. I would prefer the french roast.
