The end of the school year is looming ever closer and trying to find summer activities is always a challenge. Why not get the kids involved in some of the great Free Summer Reading Programs?
Be sure to check your local libraries- they often have incredible summer reading programs as well.
Check out this list of Nationwide Programs:
Barnes & Noble Imagination Destination – This summer reading program through Barnes & Noble gives your child the ability to earn a FREE book after reading 8 books and keeping track of them in a reading log.
Book Adventure – Sylvan offers this FREE reading incentive program. Basically your child reads books and then takes a simple comprehension quiz to make sure they understood what they read. The quiz is usually about 10 questions long. They earn points based on how much they remember from reading the book.
Chuck E. Cheese – Earn 10 FREE tokens every time your child reads for 2 weeks in a row. Just fill out the form and bring it in to claim your free token.
Family Christian – Kids will receive a free book from the list here when they read any six Christian books and explain one of the faith messages from each book in their Reading Adventures Diary. Diary must be turned in to a local Family Christian store to receive the freebie.
Half Price Books – They are offering kids ages 14 and under a chance to earn a $5 Gift Card for reading just 15 each day throughout the summer!
Junie B Jones Reading Club – Sign up and get a FREE starter Kit that includes a copy of Junie B Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus, Activity sheets and a membership ID card while supplies last.
Lifeway – Kids will receive a free Bible and free book when they read six books and memorize six scripture verses over the summer. The completed summer reading journal needs to be turned in to a local Lifeway store to receive the freebies.
Scholastic Summer Challenge – Log in your reading minutes to the Scholastic site and your child will be able to participate in a World Record challenge as well as earn digital prizes!
Showcase Cinemas Bookworm Wednesdays – Your child can earn a FREE movie ticket from National Amusements Theaters when they read a book and complete a book report.
Six Flags Read to Succeed – K-6 students who complete six hours of non-school-related reading approved by their parents and teachers are eligible for free admission to their nearest theme park.
TD Bank– your kids can earn $10 to be deposited into their new or existing TD Bank Young Saver Account when they read 10 books.
