Cooking For One Recipes: Sauteed Broccoli With Red Pepper Flakes

Ingredients
  • Olive Oil
  • 2 good sized heads of broccoli (or one bag of broccoli from the produce section)
  • 2 cloves garlic (or jar minced garlic from produce section)
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt
  • ½ cup water
  • Optional ingredients- lemon juice or parmesan cheese
Instructions
  1. Set the skillet on the stove over medium high heat. Add Olive Oil until it’s smoking.
  2. Cut the broccoli into bite sized pieces.
  3. Add the broccoli, garlic, red pepper flakes and salt and let cook. Stir occasionally until the broccoli is a bit brown in parts.
  4. Add the water and let it simmer, stirring every once in a while, unti the broccoli is tender and the water has cooked away. This only took a few minutes when I did so I wouldn't walk away for too long.
  5. Grab a piece while cooking and you will know when it’s finished.
