CrossFit Chesapeake and Eating Healthy On A Budget 6/9

Tonight I ate the last piece of pizza I am going to eat for a while.  And I am very excited about it.

Today I began a partnership with a fantastic organization in Chesapeake, VA, CrossFit Chesapeake.  I have always been fascinated by the idea of CrossFit and going to their facility today it was obvious to see the differences from a traditional gym.  I didn’t see a stairmaster or spinning bike.  There are no bright colors or flourescent lights.   But I saw lots of weights, BIG weights.  And a family who is passionate about people live healthy for the rest of their lives.

You will see the name Wilkes on their website alot- that’s because CrossFit Chesapeake is family owned and operated.  From talking to Chris “Coach” Wilkes today he knows his stuff about nutrition.  And that’s exactly what I was looking for- because while I will be working out with these guys and attempting to lose weight that isn’t my primary goal.

I hear people tell me all the time that it isn’t possible to eat healthy on a budget- that all coupons are for processed food.  That just isn’t true.  So whether it is using coupons, stocking up when things are on sale or finding things online at discounted prices I am going to try to add posts with healthier options for you and your family. Coach is going to teach me about eating healthy so I can prove it can be done.

So periodically you will see CrossFit Chesapeake pop up on A Frugal Chick’s facebook page.  I will share deals on healthy foods that I find both in the stores and online- especially products that I don’t know much about.  As I learn how to use them I will let you know. 

I will probably complain a LITTLE bit about some sore muscles.  

And hopefully as you watch me on WVEC on Sunday mornings (for those of you in Hampton Roads) you will see there is a little less of me every week.  And I will share (on the facebook page) when I have successes in weight loss.

If you don’t want to know about eating healthy food don’t worry- I will bring you the same deals I always have.  What you eat is your decision, not mine.  But I want to give my readers the options to make healthy choices and still have the option of “Living Well Without Going Broke.”

So wish me luck- I begin at 6:30 tomorrow morning!

    GOOD LUCK – You will have muscles that ache tomorrow that you didn’t even know you had and you probably won’t be able to walk, sit or move normally for the next week BUT I wish you MUCH luck and hope you reach your goals. If you eat healthy and stick with CF you will see MAJOR results. Can’t wait to read your post about your CF experience 😉

    OMG…I’m so excited for you!. I’m a mama of 2 boys and I workout at Crossfit Takeover. It’s literally the best workout ever. You are absolutely going to love it. I don’t know you but I do know we have two things in common, 1st being couponing and 2nd Crossfit. YAY

    I too hear from so many people that coupons being only for processed foods. I still manage to eat decent by buying fruits and vegtables and use the coupons for them.

    I’m so excited to see what you come up with!
