Zaycon Foods: Now Taking Orders For 93/7 Ground Beef and Bacon

Zaycon Foods is beginning their (almost) nationwide delivery of ground beef and bacon!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Zaycon you can check out my first post about them.  They deliver great horomone and anti-biotic free meat at reasonable prices to many cities around the country.

They just sent out the e-mail tonight that they are taking orders for my area so they might be in your area too!  Here are the details on the products for this delivery:

Fresh 93/7 Ground Beef is ONLY $2.97/lb!
• Fresh, Premium, Fine Grind 93/7 Super* Lean Ground Beef
• Comes in a 40-lb case with four 10-lb chubs per case (approximate weight)
• No chemicals, additives or water added to meat during processing
• Processed at a USDA-inspected, state-of-the-art plant employing strict operating protocols (including HACCP) and the highest in food-safety standards
• Prior to processing, inspectors from the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service randomly sample cattle under a monitoring plan and perform testing for antibiotic residues
* USDA nutrition labeling standards defines “extra lean” and “lean” ground beef based on the lean/fat ratio. While not part of these guidelines, the term “super lean” is often used in the grocery sector to describe ground beef at the upper end of the “lean” category (i.e., “Zaycon Foods 93/7 Super Lean Ground Beef”). This ground beef product is 93% lean and 7% fat

Fresh Hickory Smoked Bacon is ONLY $2.97/lb!
• High quality, medium-cut hickory smoked sliced bacon (14-18 slices per pound)
• Order includes two 15-lb cases with two 7.5-lb packages per case (Total order size is 30-lbs)
• Premium, high-quality and consistent, this hickory-smoked bacon has a wonderful flavor and represents a great value for families
• Easy to share with a friend if you do not think you can use the entire case

So check out Zaycon Foods to place your order or sign up to be notified when they come to your town.  Be sure to tell them A Frugal Chick sent you!

The information will also be on their site about where they will be dropping off the food.

In my area they are taking orders until 1/13 or when they sell out.

Zaycon Foods Is Open For Orders- “The Chicken People”

To order: click on “Events” and it will take you into the event nearest you!  If the timing of your event is bad for you have a friend pick it up for you!

I have told you before about the miracle that is Zaycon Foods and their amazing horomone and antibiotic free skinless split chicken breasts. Check out my post if you want to see pictures!

For my new readers Zaycon Foods is a company based in the midwest that travels around the country delivering hormone free meats.  Once they have a certain number of e-mail subscribers they will begin delivering meat in the area.  They have HUGELY expanded so if you don’t live in Hampton Roads they may be coming to your area, check their website!

For my Hampton Roads readers they have announced that they are coming!    They will begin taking orders TODAY and will only accept orders until December 31st  OR until they sell out.

If you have never ordered before and want to check it out look at their website for all the information.  Please tell them A Frugal Chick sent you so they know that I love them.

They have announced that the price for their boneless, skinless, horomone and antibiotic free chicken in Hampton Roads will be $1.69 lb.  They only sell it in 40 lb packages.  They will set up a truck (at a location and date you find out when you go to order).  You drive up, pop your trunk, hand them the receipt and they will drop a sealed box in your trunk.  Then you drive home and prep the meat in whatever way you consider appropriate!

This is the number one way I can tell you to save money on chicken, short of raising it yourself.  This is good quality chicken that your family will enjoy- and I know I have tasted it myself!

How To Save Money on Meat- Zaycon Foods

One of the big questions I often get asked is how to save money on meat.  There are coupons for it but it’s something people usually need to buy every week.  And for those of you with teenagers keeping meat in the house can be a big challenge.

Enter Zaycon Foods.  I had the opportunity to try some of Zaycon’s chicken last week and it was so good!  Their chicken is 100% natural with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients.  And they sell at fantastic prices- usually between $1.49 and $1.69 a pound for the good stuff.

The reason they can afford to do that- they deliver in 40 lb packages.  Now before you say “what on earth can I do with 40 lbs of chicken” let me show you how small the box is that 40 pounds of chicken comes in.

If you have a freezer you can fit this.  It was about 45 chicken breasts- at three in a normal freezer bag that is only 15 bags.  I put some in a deep freezer and some in my regular freezer.  They are split breasts so I thought they would be a pain to get ready to freeze- but my meat scissors took care of it.  They are already skinless so I just split them and chopped off the little bit of fat.

The picture above is two of the chicken breasts after I trimmed them up- they are about half the size of a kitchen plate when they are raw.  Then I dropped three of them in a bag, wrote the date on the outside and froze them.

If you looked at Zaycon’s map on their site you will see there are many areas in the country where they do not yet sell their products.  Here is the deal- once they get a certain number of people signed up in an area they will begin preparing to deliver their products once a quarter.  This doesn’t mean everyone has to buy every time they come to town.

Did I mention that when you buy the chicken you pull in, pop the trunk, they drop the chicken into your vehicle in a sealed bag and you drive off?  It’s like drive thru chicken.

So if you are interested in learning more about Zaycon Foods check out their site.  Once you see how awesome it is register!  There is no obligation and you don’t have to give them your credit card information.
