Holiday Website #3: Ebates

I know I talk about Ebates all the time, but this site is an especially big part of my life during the holidays. If I have the choice of going to a store or buying something on line with free shipping, it’s not really much of a choice.

Here is how ebates works in as step by step of a process as I can make it:

1.  Sign up for ebates using this link.  It is of no cost to you.  In addition, after you have made purchases totalling more than $20 (which isn’t hard this time of year) you will get a $5 credit added to your rebate.  OR you can get a $10 gift card to one of several retailers.

2.  In the upper right hand corner there is a mini-search engine that says “search stores or coupons.”  Type in whatever you are looking for.  It can be a specific store or an item.  Hit the magnifying glass once you have typed in everything you need.

** Just a note: I am constantly AMAZED at how many stores are on ebates.  So far the only ones I use regularly not on there are USAirways.com and Amazon.com.  It is so much of a factor in my shopping that most of the time I will gets books from Barnes and Noble online instead of Amazon (if the prices are the same) because B & N has a rebate.

3.    When your search results come up they will be in two sections.  The top section will have all the stores that match your criteria.  To the right of those stores will be a cash back percentage in orange.  That is the percent on your total purchase you will receive back in cash.  (For example, if it’s 8% back and you spend $20, you get $1.60 back).   These percentages change all the time so keep an eye out!

The bottom of the page will be any coupon codes good for that store.  And during the holidays there are LOTS of them- usually for things like free shipping.  Make sure you check out those codes before you complete your transaction- you never know what you might find.

Click on the orange circle with the words “Shop Now” and it will take you to the store’s website.

4- Then just make your purchase like normal.  You don’t have to do anything else!  Ebates will automatically calculate the percentage and track your spending.

Once a quarter they will mail you a check for your rebate (as long as it totals $20).  If it doesn’t, it will roll over to the next quarter.

So sign up here, get your free $5 and start saving!

Dryel Rebate Update

“I love it when a plan comes together.” – Hannibal Smith

So, a few weeks ago I told you about a great rebate on Dryel products.

In order to process the rebate, you had to give Dryel your e-mail address and they would send you a rebate form. Many of my readers wanted to take advantage of the rebate but never received the rebate form.

I finally got a copy of the rebate form from Dryel today. So if you have purchased the product and did not receive your rebate form, just drop me an e-mail and I can forward it to you!
