Locals: Parents In Need Outreach

February 23, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. there is going to be a Parents In Need Outreach in Chesapeake, VA.

This is a chance for my readers to both donate and have their needs met.

If you are having trouble keeping up with the costs of having a little one (0 – 6 months) you can come by and pick up what you need.  Items available will include things like diapers, wipes, formula/baby food, bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers, high chairs, strollers, car seats, bouncy seats, clothing shoes, toys and books.

They are also accepting donations of the above items (and cash of course) for the sale.

Whole Foods Virginia Beach Events 1/1 – 1/15

Whole Foods Virginia Beach has an exciting calendar of events planned for January 2013.  They are located at 1800 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach and it’s an experience just to go and visit.

If you want to talk to their experts about food, wine, beer, diet or more they have a slew of events available to give you a hand.

Here are the events for January 1st through January 15, 2013:

January 1st

10 a.m. to 7 p.m.- Free Allergo Coffee- to celebrate the New Year they are giving away free small Allegro coffees all day on The Porch.  One per customer please.

January 3rd

6:30 p.m.- Beer School- Join Dan Yarnell on “The Porch” every Thursday to sample and learn about different beers for $5.  Must be 21 years old or older with valid ID.

January 5th

11 a.m.- Intro to 14 Day Blast Off- FREE- Learn about the 14 day online healthy eating challenge with their Healthy Eating Specialist.  Registration required by calling customer service at 757-422-0444 or e-mail VABevents@wholefoods.com.  Please put the event name and date in the subject line.

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.- Healthy Tastes Good Sampling Event- FREE

4 p.m. to 7 p.m.- Support your local brewery FREE- Join them on the porch with representatives from O’Connor Brewing Company to learn about and taste their locally made beers.

January 15th

If you live in  Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, or Suffolk and like to coupon, you should be getting atleast one copy of the paper delivered to your house on Sundays.  You get better coupons in the paper when it is delivered than when you purchase it from a gas station or grocery store.

Right now on Groupon you can get a 6 month subscription to The Virginian Pilot for $20- that is the price I currently pay for mine!

Who: ANYBODY can participate that brings a costume to swap.

Locals Mark Your Calendars: Mothers of Multiples Fall Sale 2012


You can’t say I don’t give you enough notice for these sales!

The Mothers of Multiples in my area have huge consignment sales twice a year.

Their date for the fall has already been selected- September 22nd from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

They have toys, clothes, equipment, and maternity items. Shop early to get the best selection! They have two, three, and sometimes FOUR of everything in fabulous condition!

As always the sale will be held at The Church of The Ascension in Virginia Beach, VA (4853 Princess Anne Rd between Baxter Rd. and Edwin Drive).
