Selling Stuff On-Line

I am not strictly a minimalist, but the older I get the less I like “stuff.” It fills up my condo, collects dust and then finally at some point I want to get rid of it.

Think about the stuff in your house that you don’t use anymore. Clothes that don’t fit, shoes that are out of style, DVDs you haven’t watched in forever. Can I tell you a secret?

People will give you money for your stuff. Somewhere someone is dying to own your black leather Members Only jacket. Or your Frankie Says Relax t-shirt.

Check out this post over at Man vs Debt. The author paid off her student loan with the stuff in her house. She gives some great advice on how to get started. Maybe just start with one or two things and see how quickly you can make a profit!

You never know where it will take you!

Diaper/Formula/Wipes Deals

Many of my readers have young children, so I wanted to point you toward a great blog for retrieving information weekly about diapers and other necessary items. On the top of this website there is a tab called “The Masters.” In that tab, there is a link to Babycheapskate.com. This is an amazing website that keeps track of diaper prices at all the major stores and also breaks down by brand. She also publishes reviews of generic diapers (Target, Walgreens etc) so you can figure out which store brands might work for you!

Check out the link for this week’s deals on diapers, formula, baby wipes, and links to lots of coupons for baby products!

Free Make Up Kit with an E.L.F. order

What is E.L.F. you ask?

Make-Up. And with the holidays coming, make up is a great stocking stuffer! From now until November 13th when you place an order with E.L.F. (no matter the size) you can get a free 27 piece mini make up kit with any purchase. Just use the code LOYAL when you check out.

Plus, don’t forget to sign up for ebates (if you haven’t already you get a $5 bonus when you get your first check) and then go to the E.L.F. website that way.  Ebates gives 4% back on E.L.F. purchases!

I have been very happy with the make-up and their make up brushes have been top notch! You should give them a try!

Old Navy Clearance

In my local mall (Virginia Beach, VA) , Old Navy is having 50% off all women’s clearance items. (Sorry it doesn’t appear that the same sale also exists on-line.)

If you decide to take advantage of it, you can swing by www.oldnavyweekly.com and grab an extra 20% off coupon. (If you have never visited www.oldnavyweekly.com, it’s a little strange and I will do a post on it Thursday of this week. It will change on 10/1 but for right now take the dotted yellow line underneath the words “Wear It Four Ways” and drag it over to underneath the words “Letters to the Editor”. This will give you the 20% off coupon.)

You can use the 20% off coupon ON TOP OF the 50% off women’s clearance prices! That should be some great deals but I am not sure how long they will last!

Ebates

It is time to introduce you to one of my favorite internet shopping web sites. This is the single, easiest way to get a percentage of what you spend on the internet back in your pocket.

Ebates.

Here is how it works:

Step One: You log onto ebates and search for the store where you want to shop or the item you want to purchase. Hit the search button. I just searched for Baby GAP, as I have a nephew coming shortly.

Step Two: Two things will show up on the results page. One is a list of all possible matches for the store or item you were looking for. Next to each will be a percentage you can get back if you purchase something on that web site. For example, it shows that whatever I spend at Baby Gap I get 8% back through ebates.

Step Three: Then click on the orange button that says “Shop Now”. In my case it will takes me to the same Baby Gap web site I would have reached by typing in www.babygap.com.

Step Four: Shop like you normally would. You get the same discounts, and can enter in any sales or free shipping codes you have.

That’s it.

Then, about 24 hours after the purchase, 8% of the total spent will be credited to your ebates account. It’s like an additional discount on your shopping.

So let’s say I go to Baby Gap and I spend $50.00 on my future nephew. In a day or two, there will be $4 (8% of $50) sitting in my ebates account.

Once you reach $5 you can request a check and it will come in the mail at the end of the quarter. Or you can just leave it until you need to cash out for something special.

Sound too good to be true? How about the fact that it’s FREE! Yep, doesn’t cost you a penny. AND if you sign up through this link you also get a $5 sign up bonus (plus they sent me a couple bucks which I promise to use to keep this web site up and running)!

(I have used them for a while now and I promise it’s the real deal. They do e-mail me about once a week to let me know if any stores have really good rebates but I have never gotten any spam or pop ups on my computer from using this web site.)

Give it a shot, I promise you will love it!
