Holiday Website #2: Retailmenot.com

When I first started saving money, retailmenot.com was one of the web sites I began using. This is the PRIMO coupon/sale code web site for stores in my opinion.

When you go onto the site, there is a search box in the upper right hand corner. Put in the name of any store or item you would like to buy and hit search. Anything that matches your request will pop up below. (I just typed in “flowers” and quite a few matches popped up).

By clicking on those matches it will show you two things: any coupons that you can print to take into the store AND codes you can use if you shop on-line! So, if you aren’t into the printing coupon thing, you can just use the code on the internet. Often there are codes for free shipping and significant discounts, especially as we get closer to the holidays.

So, if you are planning on buying something anyway, take a few minutes to stop by retailmenot and see if you can get an even better deal! Write down the coupon code and head over to ebates (more about this site tomorrow) to get cash back on your purchases!

Kroger and Shell Gas Savings

If you have driven by a Shell station lately, you have probably noticed a big sign out from with the Kroger logo. The two franchises have teamed up to give you a discount on gas. I have found nothing that says this promotion is nation-wide so make sure you check with your Shell station before you fill up.

Here is how the deal works:

You will earn points at Kroger (or Dillions and Hilander) for every dollar you spend. Once you spend $100 (thus accumulating 100 points) you can redeem the savings at Shell. This does not have to be in one purchase- it can be multiple transactions. It says there are some articles that do not accrue points but does not list them. If it’s like the drug stores it may be lottery tickets, alcohol etc. Be sure to check your receipt at Kroger!

Then you take your card to Shell. “Customers are then able to redeem their Fuel Points exclusively at participating Shell stations and Kroger Fuel Centers, up to 35 gallons per fuel purchase. In Roanoke, VA only, customers may redeem up to 1,000 Fuel Points per visit to save up to $1.00 per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers (up to 35 gallons per fuel purchase).”

Customers with questions about the grocer rewards program can call the Kroger Customer Service at 1-800-576-4377, or contact Shell Customer Service at 1-888-GO-SHELL for participating Shell locations.

Thanks Danielle and Amanda for all your information!
