Black Friday 2010: Best Buy (Doorbusters, TV, Computer, Cameras)

This ad is MASSIVE and the lines will be as well.  If there is ANY chance that you can get your deal on-line I would do that.  I have often seen lines across the entire parking lot on Black Friday.  Plus if you shop on-line you can get some cash back

Please note they will begin handing out tickets for some doorbuster items up to two hours before their 5 a.m. opening!

Black Friday 2010: Price Matching Policies

During the year several stores offer price matching policies. Sears, Target and Walmart are larger retailers that will match prices if you bring in offers from competing stores on a normal day.

So I wanted to dig around and see who would do price matching on Black Friday.  Target does not offer price matching on the day after Thanksgiving, and neither does Sears.

Walmart will be doing price matching on Black Friday so be sure to bring their competitors ads with you.  They also will match Doorbuster sales at other stores.

Amazon only price-matches TV purchases. For TVs, you must email via a link on your order page for “found a lower price.”

Home Depot and Lowe’s have said they will continue their “10% off our competitors lowest price” policy.

Other than that, everywhere else I have found either says they will not match or it varies by store.

Black Friday 2010: Sears (Appliances/Electronics)

Sears is one of the few stores I went to last year to get Black Friday deals. And here is the one piece of advice I have to give:

CALL THE STORE before Black Friday to ask them about deals. Last year there was a washer and dryer combo on the cover of their Black Friday ad. They had THREE sets in each store. And they had already given away tickets on WEDNESDAY night for people to come and claim those products. So everyone waiting in line for those didn’t even have a chance to get them.

So that being said, here are the best deals I see:

Black Friday 2010: Old Navy

This is one of the few stores I went to on Black Friday last year.  It was completely insane.  So my personal recommendation is to either wait until about 9 a.m. to go shopping at Old Navy (they had plenty of stock) or shop on-line!  I am sure they will have free shipping and you can get cash back through ebates

You can click here to see their Black Friday ad!

Black Friday 2010: Kohl’s

Kohl’s Black Friday ad is 64 pages long!  They open Friday morning at 3 a.m. with their Doorbuster deals.  Before I get into the sale items, here are some tips on shopping at Kohls:

1.  Check online.  Kohl’s ad specifically says that some of their doorbuster deals and the bulk of their sales will be available via the web.  Usually on Black Friday they have free shipping and various coupon codes.  PLUS if you shop through ebates you get a percentage cash back.  (I will post the codes and the cash back percentages on November 25th.)

2.  Bring friends.  The lines at Kohl’s are some of the longest I have ever seen on Black Friday.  When you walk in, I would just stick someone in the VERY long line and everyone else just bring them items as you pick them up.

3.  Hit the jewelry counter first.  If you want jewelry, they usually help people in the order they select numbers (like a deli).  When you walk in grab a number first thing- otherwise you will be waiting a while.

4.  Kohls cash is only available in store.  If you want to earn Kohl’s cash for your purchases (it’s kind of like a Kohl’s gift certificate) you have to shop in the store.  That benefit is not available on line.

5.  Early bird specials don’t end up until 1 p.m.  Last year I went to Kohl’s about noon and the place was deserted.  If you want an early bird special it will still be around at noon.  You can head up to the store later and get the same great deals without the line.  The Early Bird deals will be available from 3AM – 1PM ONLY on Friday (11/26), but the All Day deals will be available all weekend.

So now that you have all the info here are the most notable deals:

Black Friday 2010: Target

So I asked my facebook friends what stores you are most interested in shopping on Black Friday and Target keeps coming up over and over.

If you spend $100 at Target from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. you will receive a free $10 Target Gift Card.  Limit one per guest.

Before I tell you the deals, here is some advice about Black Friday shopping at Target:

1.  If you want one of the “quantities limited” items, get there early.  Last year many of the televisions that were greatly reduced were not sold in the electronics department- they were mixed in with the clothing.  If you were at the door when they opened, you were given a map so you could dash to where your item was.  The logical place is not always right on Black Friday.

2.  Bring a reuseable shopping bag.  You get $.05 off your order.

 3.  Bring a team.  There are no rainchecks on many items.  If you want to grab one or more of the really amazing deals, the extra hands are going to help.

4.  Check on-line to see if the items are available.   Sometimes braving the elements and the crazy people just isn’t worth it.  Many of these Black Friday prices will be available on Target’s website beginning on Thanksgiving Day.

Okay- now to the deals (I have linked each of them to the item if it’s available on Amazon- that way you can check out the product and the normal price).  These are the biggest ones I see- some of the items on sale I can frequently find on sale both at Target and other places so I didn’t list them.  Click here to see the whole ad
