Free Book Download: “Rain Song”

Amazon has really expanded their list of free titles for Kindle and PC!

Check out this free book download on Amazon: “Rain Song” by Alice J. Winsler.

Here is a description of the book:

In Wisler’s likable debut, a young woman is offered a chance to find romance and make peace with her past. After her missionary mother dies under mysterious circumstances in Japan, young Nicole Michelin returns to North Carolina to live with her depressed father and loving grandmother. Now 31, and a middle school English teacher, Nicole bears the scars of a time she can’t remember. She sleeps with her cloth kimono doll and nurses phobias ranging from anxiety about flying to a fear of commitment. But when she meets an intriguing man through a Web site column, her yearning for love encourages her to risk getting to know him even though he lives in Japan. Wisler’s cast of Southern women is lightly sketched but no less charming for this, and her development of the relationship between Nicole and her three-year-old autistic cousin strikes poignant notes throughout. Faith fiction fans will appreciate the strong faith of Nicole’s influential grandmother, Ducee Dubois, who helps Nicole face her fears.

Amazon FREE Download: “Embers Of Love”

I love all these free book downloads on Amazon!  Even if you don’t have a Kindle you can still download them to your PC or most smart phones!

The free book today is “Embers of Love” by Tracie Peterson.

Here is the Amazon description: Peterson launches a new Christian historical romance trilogy when Lizzie realizes, just moments before the wedding, that she can’t marry Stuart. Her best friend Deborah invites her to move to Texas, which also allows Lizzie to escape her domineering mother. And when Lizzie meets Deborah’s brother at the train station, she realizes that he is a man she can admire and maybe, in time, love. Safely arrived in the sawmill town of Perkinsville, Lizzie settles happily into a traditional domestic role, while Deborah, homesick during her college years, now feels out of place among her uneducated family and neighbors. When she meets the new doctor, however, she finds in him a kindred spirit and struggles between her desire to help her family in their logging business, and her need to learn and practice medicine. Set among the yellow-pine forests of east Texas in 1885, Peterson’s engrossing novel subtly raises questions about land stewardship, women’s self-determination, and escalating racial tensions, while exploring the role of outsiders in a Southern post-Reconstruction small town.

Amazon Free Book Download: Prairie Rose

Did you know you can download books from Amazon directly onto your PC or many other hand held devices?  You do not need to a Kindle to take advantage of all their great deals.

The free book of the day is Prairie Rose (A Town Called Hope).

Here is the description from Amazon: Rosenbloom Cotton Mills, known as Rosie, has spent her entire 19 years in an orphanage in Kansas City, Missouri. Then, in May of 1865, Rosie saves Seth Hunter from an attack by his brother-in-law. Seeing a chance to escape the orphanage, Rosie accompanies Seth and his son, Chipper, out west to act as their housekeeper. Rosie soon falls in love with Seth but feels she can never marry because she was an illegitimate child. Eventually, her Bible reading convinces her that those who had said she was doomed to a solitary life were misinterpreting the Bible. In Rosie, Palmer (The Treasure of Zanzibar, Tyndale, 1997) has created an entertaining and humorous character, letting this romance rise above most others. Highly recommended for collections with a demand for historical romance.
