CVS Deals 9/13 – 9/19

Things to remember about CVS (especially if it’s your first trip)

–         As soon as you get there, sign up for their rewards card

–         They will accept competing drug stores manufacturers coupons, so bring coupons from places like Rite Aid and Walgreens

–         They will let you use more than one coupon per item.  For example, the Schick razors that are listed below include a dollar off coupon from the paper today.  If your friends or family do not want to use that coupon, or you get multiple copies of the paper, you can take in multiples of that same coupon and they will take them until you hit the price of the item.

–         ECB= Extra Care Bucks.  Extra Care Bucks print out after you have purchased your items.  They are basically gift certificates for CVS.  The next time you come in and shop, you can use them the same as cash.

This is a great tutorial on CVS.  I promise it is not as complicated as it looks and can save you a TON of money!

Free Baby Food and CVS booklet

Check this post by Coupon Cravings on how to get coupons for 4 free jars of Stage 2 baby food from Beech-Nut.

Also, at the pharmacy at CVS there is a coupon book with about $90 worth of coupons. You get it free when you get a flu shot at the Minute Clinic inside CVS. Many people have posted on-line that no purchase is necessary, so they will give it to you if you ask… though you may have to sit through a short speech about the importance of the flu shot. CVS will let you stack coupons, so if there is a coupon in that book and a coupon for the same item in the paper, you can use BOTH coupons when you purchase something! This can make some things really inexpensive!

I rarely see coupons for Advance Auto Parts (not that I am usually looking) but wanted to pass this on. The coupon doesn’t expire until 12/31/09 so you have plenty of time to use it!

Rite Aid Single Check Rewards

Okay, so now that you have grabbed the September 2009 Rebate Directory from Rite-Aid, you need to go on line and register to receive the rebates. The link is really easy to use.

When you open the page, click on the button that says “Sign up for SCR”. This will walk you through the process of signing up.

Here are a few things to remember:

– Keep your receipt! All of the information you need to enter the rebate is on it. You will NEVER have to mail the receipt in or fill out any paperwork.

– When the month ends, you need to go in and request they mail your check. If you don’t request it, you forfeit the amount after 30 days. I will try to remember to post something on this blog to remind you.

– You can only have one SCR account per address.

Other than that, it’s pretty easy. I have been using this program for about 9 months now and it works great. I usually receive a check in the mail about two weeks after I request it.
