10 Apps That Can Help You Save BIG During The Holidays
With thousands of apps available hundreds of them can save you money on your shopping- whether it be grocery stores, online shopping or brick and mortar locations. Each of these apps below has a great rating and a few of them I personally use when I shop. Some of them you can earn gift cards or get cash back.
Here were the ones that jumped out at me:
The Christmas List [2]– Create and track your entire shopping list with this updated app. Set an overall budget, a budget for each person on your list, and check the progress of your holiday shopping. You can look at particular stores where you need to buy gifts and search your to do list by progress, like presents that need to be wrapped, gifts that need to be shipped. You can also send your list via text.
Checkout51 [3]– (FREE ) Checkout 51 gives you rebates on items you buy at grocery stores as well as a few restaurants, stores and other venues, as well as alcohol and other items you are already planning on buying. As long as the receipt and the UPC code match it doesn’t matter what store you purchase the items in.
Christmas Budget [4]– ($.99) With this app, you can create your shopping list with names, how much you want to spend and gift ideas for each person. As you shop, the Christmas Budget [4] app helps you keep track of expenditures to make sure you are staying within your budget. You can record purchases along the way to know what you’ve bought and who you still need to shop for.
Delivery Status touch, a package tracker [5]– ($4.99) For ensuring your gifts arrive on time, this app is a great investment. It supports more than 30 delivery services, including UPS, FedEx and DHL to keep track of your items in one place. It not only counts down the number of days until a package arrives but also allows you to label packages to remind you what each one contains. The app also syncs with iCloud devices and has a dashboard widget that allows you to watch your packages from multiple devices. Favado [8]– (FREE) Favado will help you discover the BEST sale and coupon combinations each week for your local grocery, drug and big box stores. You’ll find the freshest sale data from the weekly ad, and if a sale item also has coupons available, Favado will tell you where to find them. I am a contributor to the app.
Gift Professor [9]– Not sure what to get someone? This app is here to help. With access to 2,000 merchants, the app helps you find a gift for anyone who’s hard to please in your family. It poses several questions about the recipient you have in mind and then suggests gifts within minutes. It allows you to save gift suggestions to make sure you don’t give the same thing twice regardless of the occasion.
Ibotta [10]– (FREE) Ibotta gives you rebates on items you buy at grocery stores as well as a few restaurants, stores and other venues, as well as alcohol and other items you are already planning on buying. Ibotta also has store specific deals you can only get at certain retailers.
Santa’s Bag [11]– (only for Apple) Revolutionize your Christmas shopping experience with Santa’s Bag for iOS. Import Recipients, Set Budgets, Plan Gifts, Create Wishlists & Shopping Lists, Track Progress, Share – and so much more. Each step is carefully designed to make sure you don’t forget anyone or anything. Christmas shopping has never been easier or more fun!
Savings Catcher [12]– (FREE- only at Walmart) Savings Catcher looks at the eligible items purchased at Walmart and then compares the price paid to the advertised prices in the weekly print ads of major local retailers. If Savings Catcher finds an advertised price that is lower than what was paid for the same exact item at Walmart, customers will receive a Walmart eGift Card for the difference.
Shopkick: Deals and Free Gift Cards For Shopping at Your Favorite Stores [13]– (FREE) Use shopkick to get points for walking into stores like Target, Macy’s, Best Buy, and more. Then, redeem your points for gift cards. The hardest part? Deciding on your free reward.

Target Cartwheel [14]– (FREE) Cartwheel is a program that offers up to 50% off certain items at Target. You can select offers and use the % off discount at Target in addition to stacking a manufacturer coupon AND a store coupon. Often during the holidays we will see discounts on toys, clothes and other items that pair with sales. Last pajamas were around $4 a set with the sale, a coupon AND cartwheel.
